What better way to kick off Mental Health Month than to conquer my fears and anxiety.
Like many others, I've struggled to own my power, knowledge, and expertise. Imposter Syndrome is real and I suffer from it. This belief that my expertise and knowledge is somehow less than that of others; specifically that of white women, has created an intense fear within my psyche. Next to excellence and mediocrity alike, I haven't felt like I belonged. I felt unheard - because I wasn't - and I was unable to make an impact on the world in a way that gave me solace.
I've consulted with various organizations and supported countless individuals across the years and consistently see the fruits of my labor in their practice. However, for some reason, stepping into full-time entrepreneurship (again) seemed farfetched and impossible. I believed in the necessity of a team, office, and title to make change. This may be the case for some, but after much coaching, self-care, and mental work I was able to determine that my impact was truly never limited to the office in which I worked.
I've been able to overcome the fear and hesitation that has plagued me for months and, with that, I would like to officially welcome you to Boost Consulting and Career Services!
Though the work is already in progress, stamping this is a major move for me and I am so excited to make Boost official and share the news with all of you. I encourage you to face your fears as well - big or small. We often get in our own way due to fear. Dig deep and identify where those fears are stemming from then tackle that shit (yes, I curse here).
