Position Summary

St. Martin’s Lutheran School is seeking a passionate, student-centered, faith-filled educator to serve as our Fourth Grade Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. We are in the midst of an exciting season of rebuilding and renewal as we strengthen academic rigor, deepen Christian community, and cultivate a school culture where students are known, challenged, supported, and loved.


The ideal candidate is a strong instructional leader who understands child development, believes deeply in relationship-centered teaching, and is committed to helping students grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.


This position is ideal for an educator who desires to be part of a mission-driven school community that values collaboration, innovation, joyful learning, and continuous improvement. This role offers the opportunity to foster creativity and academic growth in students while being part of a supportive community in Annapolis, MD.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality instruction aligned to standards

  • Creating a safe, structured, joyful classroom environment

  • Monitoring and communicating student progress regularly

  • Collaborating with grade-level teams, support staff, and administration

  • Participating fully in school life, events, and professional development

  • Supporting the Christian mission and values of the school

  • Building strong partnerships with families

  • Utilizing assessment data to guide instructional decisions

  • Maintaining professionalism in communication, planning, and collaboration

Qualifications & Competencies

Preferred candidates will possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field

  • Maryland certification or ability to obtain certification

  • 1-3 years' experience teaching upper elementary students preferred

  • Strong classroom management and instructional planning skills

  • Knowledge of best practices in literacy and mathematics instruction

  • Familiarity with differentiated instruction and inclusive practices

  • Commitment to Christian education and faith-based community

Additional Information

This position offers a salary range of $42,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year. St. Martin’s also offers a generous benefits package including the following:
